What does ScreenMind actually do?
It reads the text inside your screenshots and makes it searchable, so you can find any screenshot by what's written in it — not by scrolling your camera roll.
Is it really all on-device?
Yes. Text recognition uses Apple's Vision framework, which runs locally on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded, there's no account, and it works in Airplane Mode.
Does it read my regular photos too?
No. ScreenMind only works with screenshots — your other photos are ignored.
What kinds of details can it find?
Amounts, currencies, dates, times, phone numbers, emails, websites, addresses, IBANs, account numbers, order and invoice numbers, tracking numbers, flight numbers, and more — depending on what's in the screenshot.
Can I search by amount, like "8500"?
Yes. If a receipt shows 8,500, searching "8500" finds it.
Does it use AI?
ScreenMind uses Apple's on-device text recognition plus rule-based detection to find structured details. There's no cloud AI and no external model — and nothing is sent anywhere.
Why is text recognition still running after I open the app?
The first time, ScreenMind reads every screenshot on your device. For large libraries this takes a little while, but it happens in the background and you can use the app the whole time. Each screenshot is only ever read once.
A screenshot's text is wrong or missing. What can I do?
Open the screenshot and tap Re-run to recognize it again. Recognition quality depends on the original image — very low-resolution or heavily stylized text is harder to read.
Will it slow down my phone?
Recognition runs in the background and is designed to keep the app smooth even with thousands of screenshots. You can use everything while it works.
Can I export the text?
Yes — you can copy or export the recognized text from any screenshot.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage. Nothing is uploaded. Deleting the app removes all of its data.
